Nokia 5230 Brings Apps, Maps and Free Navigation to Canada First at WIND Mobile

Nokia and WIND Mobile  announced the availability of the Nokia 5230, a stylish new 3G Touch-Screen smartphone that offers free access to a wide variety of services. The Nokia 5230 operates on Symbian – the world’s most popular and open operating platform – allowing for multitasking and true personalization of the homescreen and menu screens.

“The Nokia 5230 is designed for consumers who want a stylish device that also gives them a great navigation experience, allows them to discover new content and apps, and helps them to stay connected to their social networks virtually at all times,” said Richard White, General Manager, Nokia Canada. “We are pleased to offer this smartphone for the first time to our Canadian customers through WIND Mobile.”

Consumers will also enjoy quick access to media via the Media Bar, media player with graphic equalizer, support for all main digital music formats, a FM radio and up to 33 hours of music playback.

WIND Mobile customers can also download the latest Ovi Maps software for their Nokia 5230 from nokia.ca/maps. Ovi Maps come with free GPS turn-by-turn driving and pedestrian navigation for 74 countries in 46 languages. Exploring the world or rediscovering your own city has never been easier or more fun with Ovi Maps. Lonely Planet and Michelin guides will help you discover great places to eat, concerts, movies and more. Other features include the ability to check the weather forecast and even share one’s current location on Facebook.



Other features of the Nokia 5230 include:
