Canadians pining for a spanking new iPhone 4 come 'sometime in July' will have a number of choices to get their phone once it is released. Apple Stores will have them commitment free and online pre-orders will be available as well. Rogers, Telus, Bell and now VirginMobile are going to be selling them locked into three year plans.
Here's the problem. iPhone US pre-orders have totally sold out and reports from the states claim 600,000 iPhones (10 x that of the iPhone 3GS) were sold and as a result delivery dates have been pushed from June 24th to July 14th and possibly beyond. How this will affect the international launch and specifically the Canadian launch of the iPhone 4 will be interesting to watch.
Apple moved international launch date of the iPad due to similar shortages which means we might be looking at an August shipping date for the iPhone in Canada specially since in the US only one carrier (AT&T) is pushing the product while we have four carriers scrambling for the iPhone.
