Nokia’s Ovi app store is now open for business in Canada

2010 is turning out to be quite a year for mobile app stores. Nokia has just opened the gates to its Ovi app store which sells applications for its Symbian powered smartphones. 

While some apps are available for free, the cost of purchased apps will now conveniently appear on customers’ wireless provider bill. Canadians can take advantage of integrated billing with Bell, Rogers and Telus. It is the perfect downloading solution.

Canadians can visit the Ovi Store to discover new apps they cannot live without. Each week, Ovi Store continues to grow and add more great content. With content that supports more than 30 languages, there is something for everyone. Currently, Ovi Store sees more than 1.7 million downloads worldwide per day.

Food Network Canada Mobile Recipe App

The Food Network Canada Mobile Recipe App is free and includes more than 10,000 meal ideas, how-to videos with cooking tips and techniques, and daily updates. Users can search and download recipes from within the Food Network Canada’s extensive library, save those recipes directly to the app and receive a new recipe every day of the week with the “recipe of the day” feature.

MuchMusic App

The new MuchMusic App keeps users connected and current with all things music. Learn even more about MuchMusic with this free app, and watch the latest videos and check out photos from amazing MuchMusic events.

Carpe Diem Daily App

Learn something new every day and discover fascinating facts about people and the world with the Carpe Diem Daily App by Nokia. By delivering a series of daily dos, Carpe Diem Daily helps users do something new every day.

Ovi Store is an evolving media service that consolidates Nokia's existing content services into a one-stop-shop for free and paid content. Thousands of the content industry's biggest names along with independent application developers distribute their media, applications and games through Ovi Store.
