Toyota’s Scion brand launches in Canada this month, featuring three models that start as low as $17,200. Although the brand is popular in the U.S., it is the first time Scion has been offered in Canada. The new Scion models will compete in the subcompact, sport utility and compact sport segments and will be highly customizable vehicles.
“Scion drivers want comprehensively-equipped vehicles that are also high on design, performance and efficiency, at a price that leaves money left over to customize their ride and make it an expression of their lifestyle,” said Larry Hutchinson, director of Scion in Canada. “Scion vehicles come with a high standard of equipment at a competitive price, delivering everything Scion drivers are looking for, including class-leading safety features.”
Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, locks and mirrors, premium Pioneer six- or eight-speaker audio system, MP3 and iPod outlets, and sport seats. More than 75 parts and accessories are available, including a full line of Toyota Racing Development (TRD) performance gear.
The 2011 lineup includes the tC Sports Coupe, starting at $20,850; the xB Compact, at $18,270; and the xD four-door hatchback at $17,200.
Scion Canada also announced the launch of a newly-redesigned Web site, Scion Nation, which will allow customers to engage with advanced 3D renderings as they build and price Scion models. The site includes lifestyle pages, an interactive magazine, credit applications, and a dealer locator.
Scion will initially launch at 45 “store within a store” boutiques at Toyota dealers in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver this month.
