What does FITC stand for?
FITC began as a Flash Festival in 2002 we called 'Flash In The Can', named as it was a Flash event in CANada. After a few years, we expanded into events outside of Canada, and at the same time the events grew to cover a lot more than just Flash. Thus we started using the acronym F.I.T.C

So are they Flash events?
We've kept Flash as a part of our events, but we've also expanded and have continued to add more diverse topics over the years, ever expanding the programming of our events. Our events are for Digital Creators of all kinds: from motion graphics, pure design, inspiration, mobile, to technical topics such as HTML5 Flex, Android, openFrameworks, AIR and processing. Our events cover the coolest and best the industry has to offer.

Why do we do it?
The idea behind all of our events is to bring like-minded people together. Presenters and attendees and companies who have a passion for the industry, for Flash, design and the new and exciting. FITC events bring them together to learn, be inspired and challenged to improve. We focus on bringing the designers and the technologists together: Creators.

What happens at the events?
It starts with the presentations. Solidly packed days of presentations both technical and creative, by hand-picked experts from around the world who are all eager to share and meet you. For most of our events, you will have multiple tracks of presentations to choose from. It's also about the networking. Being able to meet and talk to people who share your passion for this industry. Meet them at the presentations, in the exhibitor hall, or at one of the evening parties. Did we mention the parties? We don't mean to toot our own horn, but FITC parties are legendary. Not that you should come just for the parties, but you could, if you really wanted to. We wouldn’t tell anyone.

Who goes to an FITC event?
DIGITAL CREATORS! Flash Designers, Flash Developers, Motion Graphic Artists, Digital Artists and anyone who creates digitally with an interest in Flash and digital media. From our technical presentations for the beginner, the intermediate, and the super advanced, to the inspirational creative sessions, there's always something to choose from. And there are always new and interesting people to meet and talk to.
