The Smoked By Windows Phone campaign has arrived in Canada. It started out as small scale attention grabber at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and has since gone viral, spreading to over 36 countries around the globe. Now Canadians will get a chance duel it out as the Smoked challenge takes to the streets of Toronto.

World-wide, over 50,000 handsets have accepted the Smoked by Windows Phone challenge with Windows Phone out-pacing the competition 98% of the time. Canadian contestants will choose a smartphone task and put their devices to the test in a race against the Nokia Lumia 900.

If a player’s phone gets “smoked” by Windows Phone, they will admit defeat on our Windows Phone Canada Facebook page. And if they win? Microsoft Canada’s putting our money where our mouth is - winners will walk away with a $100.00 Visa Gift Card. Not bad, eh?

Over the next few weeks, pop-up challenges are taking place across the GTA including this weekend.

May 25: Yonge and Eglington until-8pm
May 26: The Danforth 10am-6pm
May 27: Yonge and Dundas 11am-5pm

Please note, these locations may be subject to change based on weather. I am also able to provide future challenge dates upon request.

Up-to-the-minute contest and location information is being tweeted via @SmokedByWPCA and @MicrosoftCanada.
