With the demise of video rental powerhouses, Blockbuster and Rogers – the competition for consumer dollars in the rental space is heating up. Best Buy/Future Shop recently entered the competition with the launch of CinemaNow.
Through the service, customers can seamlessly access content on a wide range of Internet-connected devices including computers (PC and MAC), TVs, and Blu-Ray Disc players. Right now you can get CinemaNow on a slew of TVs from Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Sharp and Toshiba (more than 100 different devices) and there is no monthly subscription fee.
Just last Friday, CinemaNow announced a new partnership with Alliance Films – bringing the popular Hunger Games movie to the service this August. CinemaNow also has partnerships with the following studios and movie/TV publishers:
