Rovio, the company behind the incredibly successful Angry Birds franchise has released a new and potentially addicting puzzle based game in iOS and Android called Amazing Alex. This engaging physics puzzle game pits you and gravity against each other as you use various elements to create fantastic contraptions with varied objectives.

What starts off as a simple puzzle can quickly grow into a more complex situation and you are forced to gauge, weigh and calibrate various elements in order to get the objectives done. Aside from being a great way to learn about physics, the game pushes you to think creatively and drill down a number of viable solutions.

It may not be as addictive as Angry Birds with its slingshot physics but it is equally challenging as the objective isn't just to get the challenges done but to do so in the most elegant way (and get the elusive three star bonus).

Amazing Alex has all the elements of a modern classic. It may not be as action pack as its frenetic avian predecessory (and there's no hate for smug pigs here) but it does work out other parts of your brain and the puzzles can go on forever. The best thing for some players is the ability to create your own puzzles to share, delight and confound other players.

Rovio makes Amazing Alex available to both Android and iOS and offers loads of clever fun for players of all ages.
