Samsung's getting ready to reveal their the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at Mobile World Congress. The giant phablet is expected to be one of Samsung's announcements in the show and was seen in billboards by some attendees. From what we've seen via some leaked photos is that the Galaxy Note 8 takes the design language introduced in the Galaxy S 3 and continued with the Galaxy Note 2. More than just a refresh of Samsung's poorly selling 7-inch tablet line, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to be offering a newer SPen with expanded functionality as well as 3G Data capability. We will know more in the coming days.

So, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the real deal. This one's gunning after the Google Nexus 7 and the iPad mini's market share and features an 8-inch TFT screen with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, a 1.6Ghz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB and 32GB capacities. The SPen is still very much in the picture and with an expanded set of applications. It has an IR blaster and can be used as a universal remote control. There are both WiFI only and WiFi and HSPA+ versions that can make calls. Yes, an 8-inch phone. The WiFi only version has been earmarked for Canada in Q2 but pricing is still up in the air (although it should be in between the Nexus 7 and the iPad mini).
