Proudly proclaiming that they are the first to offer 4K Ultra High Definition TVs in Canada, Sony has officially announced today the prices of their new 4K UHD TVs that were unveiled at CES in January. The 55-inch XBR-55X900A and the 65-inch XBR-65X900A retail for $5,499.99 and $7,699.99, respectively.
They are available on Sony Canada’s site, Sony Store retail locations, and other participating retailers across Canada. Listed below are some of the key features of the new 4K UHD models:
- 4K brings you lifelike resolution that is four times that of Full HD TV (3840 x 2160)
- Proprietary two-chip 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine makes sure all content is viewed at the highest resolution possible by enhancing images as near to 4K as it can
- Sony’s TRILUMINOS Display technology delivers colors as natural and accurate as possible
- Dynamic edge-lit LED backlighting creates an immersive picture with blacker blacks and incredible contrast
- Full HD 3D panel brings the 3D cinema experience home
- Superb sound courtesy of the integrated 65 Watt, front-facing, magnetic fluid speaker system
- Wi-Fi connectivity and access to full Sony Entertainment Network suite for more entertainment options
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is also unveiling a lineup of “Mastered in 4K” Blu-ray Discs tomorrow, May 14, to complement your 4K UHD TV viewing experience.
And if you order through Sony Store retail outlets or the Sony Canada Call Centre (1.888.289.SONY option 1, then 6) before May 31, you can get a complimentary installation package valued at $400 for your 4K UHD TV.
