Nokia has sent out press invites to their July 11th event in New York City. The invitation says Zoom. Reinvented, which hints at a camera-focused launch. Checking out their Nokia Blog page, we see another invitation offering 41 millon reasons to check the event. Nokia released the 41 megapixel 808 PureView camera last year, and while that Symbian powered phone really pushed the envelope of what camera phones were capable of, it was rather bulbous and it wasn't running Windows Phone OS.

I expect Nokia to launch a new flagship smartphone (or even series of smartphones) that meld the best aspects of their Lumia line with the raw photographic power of 808 PureView phone. The result should be nothing short of groundbreaking, specially now that more people rely on their smartphones as their main device for shooting and sharing video and photos.

Codenamed the Nokia EOS, Elvis (for AT&T) and Lumia 1020 (following in the stead of the Lumia 820 and 920), the device wont just be the first big internationsl Windows Phone handset revealed this year, it will likely be the flagship Windows Phone handset of 2013. Nokia is livestreaming the event starting at 11 AM Eastern and will be webcast live from the Nokia Blog.
