In my extensive time using Logitech products, from speakers to headphone and back, never have I been more impressed any product than I am with the ‘made for it’ usability of the Logitech Ultrathin Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad Air. It’s simply incredible. In fact, over the Christmas holidays, I found myself using this combination for my daily work/email grind, only switching to a full laptop when it came to needing to use Photoshop or write longer-form reviews. Yes, I know, I could have quite easily done both on the iPad as well; it came down to comfort level at that point.
So without further adieu, let’s take a look at the Ultrathin Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad Air and discuss what it is that I adore so much about it.
Portability and Convenience:
I didn’t know there was a way to make the iPad Air better. Aside from how well engineered by Apple it is, the subtle magnetic attachment to the keyboard makes using them together a breeze; it’s literally touch and go. The keyboard is also extremely lightweight and thin, so it takes up very little space when on the go.
Speaking of space, coming from an iPad mini – which has an ultra thin keyboard of its own – one is shockingly spoiled by how much key space is given on the iPad Air keyboard. Of course, this makes perfect sense given the size difference, but still; it’s the little things that make me appreciate the upgrade.
Usability:
Bluetooth activity in itself has become such a common practice, I feel like the use of it has become almost second nature to most consumers. Thus, with the keyboard, with the flip of one button, you’re able to activate the signal from the UltraThin and connect easily to your iPad with as little as three simple actions.
Battery Life:
With moderate to heavy use, I got up to a week off a single charge. Sadly, there is no battery meter to keep track of, so you don’t ever actually know how much battery you have left until the keyboard starts dying on you.
Overall:
The Logitech Ultra Thin Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad Air is an absolute must-have accessory. It enables its users' the portability and ease of confidently leaving their laptop home knowing that, if needed, they can still be staying productive on the go. The only real caveat is that it's one of the most expensive keyboards in its category. However the price is justified by the amount of productivity the tool offers and of course the quality you are getting from an established brand like Logitech.
The Logitech Ultra Thin retails for $99.99 Canadian and can be purchased here
