Nokia’s HERE mapping app first made its appearance on Android for Samsung devices. Now, the beta version of the app can be sideloaded on your Android smartphone. Those running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher are compatible with HERE. Nokia recommends you have a device that runs on 1GB of RAM or more to make the most of the offline features of the app. What’s unique about Nokia’s offering is it doesn’t need an Internet connection to access apps. It makes use of the GPS on your phone to map out places and those you always visit can be stored in your device.

It must be noted though that since this is a beta version of the app there are still a lot of kinks it has to work out. Plus, you won’t get an alert when an update of the app arrives. But if you want to try it out, you can manually download it here.
