Twitter adds dockable videos that will play clips while you browse

If we had picture-in-picture before, now we get picture-in-Twitter. After offering dockable audio cards, Twitter is turning to the moving picture counterpart. You can now watch clips as you browse through Twitter on Android or iOS. It will either let you watch a view in full screen or dock it to the bottom of the screen (like what you do on YouTube’s mobile app). A white progress bar shows how long the clip is and its audio will keep on playing if you plan to compose a tweet.

The opportunity in this lies in long-form videos. People are used to live-tweeting events but what if you don’t have to look at a TV screen anymore and just focus on your device? Advertisers can also use it to run short commercials as well.
