Amazon has changed the way many Americans and Canadians procure products and their features such as Amazon Prime and free shipping have been nothing short of game changing.

Amazon’s 20th holiday brought more than just record growth for Prime. Amazon customers also saved billions thanks to free shipping. On all items purchased this holiday season, customers saved over $2 billion on free two-day shipping through Amazon Prime and other free shipping offers. Additionally, 100 million more items shipped for free this holiday compared to last.

“The amount of money Amazon Prime is saving me on shipping is ridiculous. thank you free, 2-day delivery!”

“Customers continue to save money shopping on Amazon,” said Jeff Wilke, Senior Vice President, Amazon.com. “This holiday season, Amazon shoppers saved billions through free shipping, and even more through our low prices. We are especially excited that 10 million new customers tried Amazon Prime for the first time.”

Amazon customers can find millions of items available with Free Shipping on orders over $35. However, over the last few years, unlimited Free Two-Day Shipping with Prime has become the preferred shipping method among Amazon customers. In fact, Amazon now ships more than twice as many items with Prime than with Free Shipping.

Tens of millions of members around the world already enjoy Prime. In the US, membership includes unlimited Free Two-Day Shipping on more than 20 million items, instant streaming of tens of thousands of movies and TV episodes through Prime Instant Video, one million songs and hundreds of playlists through Prime Music, free unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos, early access to select Lightning Deals and access to over 700,000 books to borrow through the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
