Annoyed by tweets of a certain user but don’t want to offend them by unfollowing them? Twitter has begun rolling out its mute feature to the public. The company began testing mute for a small group of users and is now officially making its way to everyone. Mute allows you to no longer see tweets and retweets from the selected user on your timeline. You will also no longer receive SMS or push notifications from the user. They will still be able to retweet, favorite, or reply to your activities but at least you won’t be able to see their Twitter activity on your main timeline.

You can mute Twitter users by tapping on their tweet and selecting more and then “Mute @username” or you can head to their profile and select the gear icon and then tap on “Mute @username.” The feature is available for Web as well as Android and iOS apps.
