Edmodo, the world’s largest, free K-12 social learning network connecting more than 35 million teachers, students, administrators and parents, today announced the release of the new Edmodo app for Windows 8.1 at ISTE 2014, the premier education technology event. Optimized for Windows 8.1, the app features live tile notifications and touch-enabled split screen capabilities.

The app emphasizes core functions most used by teachers and students on mobile devices in the classroom environment. Users have access to the full suite of Edmodo features available on the Web version, including creating and joining Edmodo groups, collaborating with peers in the group stream as well as in Edmodo subject communities, creating and turning in assignments, accessing the user library, and retrieving content, both free and paid educational applications, from the Edmodo Store.

The Edmodo app for Windows 8.1 allows teachers full classroom management and interaction across their groups and Edmodo subject communities. Users can create new accounts from the app and teachers can share content with peers, as well as with students.
