We're live at the Eaton Centre Apple Retail Store in Downtown Toronto where the lines for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are snaking through two floors of this large shopping mall. It is the longest line we've seen for an iPhone launch day ever and if the turnout here is any indication of the demand for the new iPhones, then Apple looks to have another blockbuster.

In previous years, we would see long lines at the Eaton Centre but they would be contained withing one floor. Considering that Apple has more Retail Stores and their products are also available through carriers and big box stores plus pre-orders opened up a few days ago, demand for the new devices is unprecedented.

Reasons for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus' popularity range from many people coming off their smartphone contracts and wanting to replace ageing iPhone 4's and iPhone 4s', possibly a surge in demand for larger screen sizes and all the new camera, LTE and Health and Home remote management capabilities that the new iOS 8 and the iPhones now offer.

As for the iPhone 6 Plus, some users will consider a larger smartphone over a smartphone and a tablet combination, for them the larger screen and longer battery life is worth the cost.
