At last night's Interior Design Show (IDS) Opening Night Party, Miele Canada hosted a pre-party reception for invited industry leaders, designers, influentials and media. It was a night of rubbing elbows with well-known designers including Karim Rashid. MakerBot, 3D image printers were also offering teasers at the reception leading to the unveiling of Miele's newest innovations for the home.

Miele Canada is the largest exhibitor at this year's show creating a "Culinary Experience" at IDS that is truly a home chef's dream come true and definitely not to be missed! Taking the restaurant experience into the home is one of the leading trends in kitchens that has me thinking...alot!

As you enter Miele's gallery-like space, each section is themed leading in with a garden-themed area as representatives explain their refridgeration advantages. Guests discovered how produce lasts longer as a result of better air circulation.

Miele's Knock2open innovation presents a sleeker more modern feel to the kitchen eliminating the needs for reaching for handles on such appliances as dishwashers. Now with a streamlined look all you have to do is knock on the door and it will unlock the machine to open.

Miele ovens have already been on my radar recently as I had visited their Gallery space at Caplan's in Toronto. now one standard oven doesn't seem to be enough. This is where it's at.  As professional pastry and bakery chefs know, moisture and dryness is important when it comes to the oven, Miele has taken that technology to the home kitchen with a combination Convection-Steam Oven and Moisture Plus features that make baking perfect.

Chef Jonathan Collins (once chef at 24 Sussex Drive, Ottawa) was on hand at last night's unveiling with Miele in the Production Kitchen that features the newest in the cooking range category that also includes a microwave built in - the first of its kind. Chefs will be hosting cooking demonstrations throughout the show.

For IDS15 guests, you'll want to head to the room located above the Miele exhibit for a real treat! Actually head there as soon as you arrive to the show to reserve your spot at the Chef's Table at Harmony Culinary Experience - a four course tasting menu is offered to the lucky ones who are able to nab a spot!

IDS15 is on January 22 to 25 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto. For more information visit www.interiordesignshow.ca
