Microsoft is ramping up for the global Windows 10 launch on July 29.
As part of the new Upgrade Your World initiative, Microsoft will be partnering with 10 global and 100 local non-profits to help them upgrade the world.
The nine global nonprofits we are announcing Monday are: CARE, Code.org, Keep a Child Alive, Malala Fund, Pencils of Promise, Save the Children, Special Olympics, The Global Poverty Project, and The Nature Conservancy. Beginning on July 29, we will invite people around the world to vote for a 10th global nonprofit to participate. Microsoft employees are also receiving an extra day off to volunteer in their communities throughout the year, with thousands participating on July 29 in honor of the Windows 10 launch.
Other details announced today include information on global retails plans, employee activities and information on Windows 10 fan celebrations in 13 cities around the world, including Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, New Delhi, Dubai, Nairobi, Berlin, Johannesburg, Madrid, London, Sao Paolo, and New York City.
