The new Dyson Pure Cool is Dyson's first air purifier in fan form and it removes 99.95 per cent of potentially harmful ultrafine particles, as small as 0.1 microns. Why does this matter? These ultrafine particles can travel further into your lungs, and has been linked to heart attacks, strokes and skin aging. More common symptoms of exposure to indoor air pollutants include headaches, itchy nose and scratchy throats.
“There is more in the air than meets the eye – the really harmful pollutants are those we can’t see. Throughout the development of Dyson Pure Cool, Dyson engineers focused on capturing the ultrafine particles that can travel deep into your lungs – developing a machine which captures particles as small as 0.1 microns," James Dyson explains.
While other purifiers rely on big motors and bulky, inefficient filters that allow ultrafine particles to escape back into the room, Dyson Pure Cool uses Air Multiplier technology and an energy-efficient DC motor to project cleaner, purified air around the room evenly and quietly. Dyson Pure Cool removes 99.95% of harmful ultrafine particles from household air.
To put this size in context, a period is 615 microns in size, a pollen particle ranges between 10-10,000 microns in size and a spider web’s diameter 2-3 microns.
