The newest member of the Forza Motorsport Series is Forza 6 (released on September 15, 2015) and, according to my 15 year old son who's a BIG fan of racing games, is by far the best and most realistic game in the series created by Turn 10 Studios.
Forza 6 is the most challenging of the series. If you love cars and you love racing this is an amazing game. There are more than 450 cars in this game and 26 tracks from all around the world including Rio, Yas Marina, and Brands Hatch just to name a few. This game is not just for already existing fans of the Forza series, it's great for those who have never experienced Forza before.
At the recent X15 Game Showcase event in Toronto, Turn 10 Studio reps mentioned that long time Forza fans had made suggestions as to what they wanted to experience in the game. Wet-weather racing and night time racing are now part of the new game.
"When we talk about racing in the rain or night, there's a specific feeling that you get as a driver," said Brian Ekberg, Turn 10 Studios. "They tell you is the sense of fear and excitement. It's the adrenaline rush and that's what we wanted to create here. When you race 100 miles an hour in the rain, that's pretty scary and you may panic but that's the feeling that we wanted to immerse our fans in. You should feel the excitement of the game and it's a different feeling on the track versions as well. We wanted racing game fans to feel what real race car drivers feel."
So, I've turned to my son to tell me what's cool about the game so far....
What's new (things not seen in Forza Motorsport 5)?
Racing in the Rain: Rain drops move of of windshield as the car moves faster. Puddles of water on the race tracks can cause aquaplaning which makes the car lose control. Reduced traction so cars are more unpredictable/less stable around the corners.
Night Racing: Whether driving around The Nurburgring with just your headlights guiding you, or racing at Yas Marina with the artificial lights lighting up the whole track, night racing completely changes the experience. According to Forza, the cars have less grip at night due to colder track surfaces.
MODS: These are options that can be chosen at the beginning of a race in career mode or free play. Examples of mods are adding challenges for other players, upgrading your car for one race, or changing the awards at the end of the race. You can use mods to boost your position on the starting grid, giving players a better chance of winning.
Prize Spins: These are the awards you get when you advance driver levels. The more you play and the better you place in races, the higher your driver level. Similar to Forza Horizon 2, these spins offer prizes such as money, cheap cars, and even high-end exotic sports cars.
All of these new features make this game far more entertaining than Forza 5, and there’s always something new, whether it be mods, challenges, or weather.
