The action-packed thriller game, Quantum Break (Xbox One and Windows 10) released this week to much excitement and to celebrate the launch, fan events were hosted in 11 Microsoft stores in the U.S. and Canada.
Here in Toronto, a curious store front opened at the busy street corner of Queen Street West and Spadina that is catching attention by those passing by.
Xbox Canada created Quantum Burger shop at the Hero Burger location. A peek through the windows and you see chaos of flying tables, chairs as if disaster had just struck and everything is frozen in time. The buzz is building on social media and we've been told that it is open until Friday -- but I suspect they may last through the weekend.
When I had arrived close to the noon hour, the shop had not opened yet. As I lingered outside I couldn't help but overhearing comments as curious onlookers peered through the windows.
"I've never heard about this burger place, is it new?"
"Oh, that's really cool way the decorated this burger place...but where do you eat?"
"Oh man, I thought this was a real burger place! I really wanted a burger!"
"It must be a movie set, or something."
"I heard it's a pop up shop for something. Don't know what they are selling but it looks cool."
When I had mentioned it had something to do with a new Xbox game, everyone had the same reaction of "WOW"!
Everything is very mysterious about this set up. No signs for the game but on-site staff explain what it's all about and how it ties into the uniqueness of the actual game. Quantum Break is a unique gaming experience; part video game and part live action show. Your choices in-game affects the outcome of your experience.
At the Quantum Burger staged two level burger shop, visitors are encouraged to look around for clues and hints to play along for a few surprises...and of course you can demo the actual video game.
Quantum Break features a well-known cast including Shawn Ashmore (X-Men) as the hero character Jack Joyce, Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) as his nemisis Paul Serene, and Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings) as Jack's genius brother William.
