Microsoft released its Q2 2017 earnings results yesterday and the company says that Surface business, comprised of Surface Pro 4, Surface Book and to a lesser extent the recently released Surface Studio has earned the company $ 1.321 Billion dollars proving Microsoft's increasing success as a hardware manufacturer of premium Windows machines. Surface Pros and Surface Books have gained momentum and should get even more popular once the next update to Windows, the Creator's Update, rolls around this year.

As expected, mobile sales declined by 81% as Microsoft continued to distance itself from Windows 10 phone devices. Office 365 as well as cloud services have made it possible for Microsoft to generate a revenue of $24.1 billion, which was down from 25.7 billion year over year for last year.
