Apple's anticipated iPhone X smartphone began shipping today and was available in Apple Retail Stores. Compared to the relatively small lines for the iPhone 8 last month, there were hundreds of people lining the Eaton Centre shopping mall in downtown Toronto.

Some customers reserved the iPhone X online and were there to pick up their new phones while around 500 were waiting in line to pick up one of Apple's new devices. Each buyer was limited to two phones and Apple representatives said they made sure that everyone would be able to get the device they wanted. iPhone X is an all new design, features an all glass enclosure with a large 5.8 OLED display, a Face ID camera replacing the home button and the most advanced cameras ever shipped on an iPhone.

iPhone X starts at CAD $1319, is available in a sleek silver or elegant space grey colour and has either 64GB of 256GB capacities. Our first impressions are that Face ID works just as well as Touch ID and while there are new gestures required to substitute for the Home button. The new OLED display is bright and more immersive. Camera performance is outstanding. We will have a more in depth review here in a few days.
