On Friday, March 10th KAYAK will treat Torontonians to a delicious free lunch at their desk – so they can eat while they search for their next adventure! They have partnered with UberEATS to give away 500 free lunches between the hours of 12pm and 3pm (up to $20 per lunch).
Using the promotional code “GETAWAYWITHKAYAK" Torontonians can choose from curated a list of restaurant partners (to be revealed on Friday) and dishes that reflect the 10 most searched destinations for Canadian travellers during the lunch hour: London, Vancouver, Toronto, Las Vegas, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Calgary.
KAYAK, the world’s leading travel search engine, recently revealed that based on popular search times, Canadians are making their travel plans on the job! They found that the most popular time for Canadians to search travel deals falls during regular business hours at work.
KAYAK data shows a significant spike in searches between noon and 3 p.m. during the workweek - prime lunch break time. Search data from KAYAK also revealed that Torontonians are doing the most travel planning at work, followed by Montreal and Vancouver. KAYAK also conducted a survey with Leger 360 that found young professionals in Canada are significantly more likely to experience an afternoon slump and use work time to accomplish personal errands such as travel planning, while older generations said they would only use their lunch hour to accomplish personal errands at work.
“For many, the boundaries between work time and personal time are indistinguishable so planning a vacation during work and working from your vacation are becoming commonplace,” said David Solomito, NA Brand Marketing, KAYAK. “For anyone that needs to use their lunch hour for vacation planning, KAYAK is a great resource. We do the heavy lift for you by searching hundreds of sites at once so you can make a decision and check one more thing off your to-do list.”
