Spring always gives me the urge to clean up from all the squirrelling we did over the winter months and not just the boots and coats (please tell me it ain't gonna snow again?). Spring cleaning also means getting ourselves back on track and more organized. That whole living an uncluttered life mentality is not a trend --it's a health benefit. Not being overwhelmed helps us manage life better and it's trickled into our Netflix viewing.
Have you recently noticed the rating system at the bottom of your Netflix show screens? A simple visual of a "thumbs up" and a "thumbs down" now helps you get your viewing life more organized and even more personalized. The optional rating system helps in two ways:
THUMBS UP FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: You couldn't look away from the trippy OA series. It's hard to explain but there's just something about Brit Marling and the dance moves and if you're like me, you got hooked hard on this strange but intriguing first season. Now that you're done, you don't know what to watch next. Mark it as a "thumbs up" and Netflix will offer up recommendations that may also be appealing to you.
THUMBS DOWN TO KEEP STUFF OFF YOUR PROFILE: You've set up your family member profiles already to keep the kids content on theirs (and your Orange is the New Black stays on yours) but there are some days that you're watching a movie as a family. How many times can we watch Sponge Bob? Give the "thumbs down" rating on your profile to keep the cartoon on their profile and OFF yours. Sorry Sponge Bob, I love you, but....
This new Netflix rating system basically helps clean up our profiles offering a simple and more efficient way to discover shows and movies that are appealing to each of us. We give this new rating system a thumbs up!
