Uniqlo showed off its LifeWear Fall/Winter 2017 Collection in downtown Toronto today. On display were a variety of casual yet stylish outerwear, accessories and innovative new collections from Ines de La Fressage which focuses on menswear with a smart Parisian character, a first for Uniqlo.

The focus of the collection was very much on texture and a range of fabrics ideal for the cooler months. New this year was U-Kints, which brings a seamless knitted sweaters and dresses in varying designs and cuts.

Notable pieces were some of the UNIQLO and Disney collaborations which featured popular Disney characters on sweaters, t-shirst and even accessories.

I noticed a number of choices for men, specially in terms of outerwear with everything from parkas, leather jackets lined with faux fur, herringbone designed sports jackets, hoodies and dressier casual pieces.

UNIQLO also showcased various new colours that fit well within the Fall/Winter fashion language including more muted earth colours, bold maroons and a gradation of greys. Monochromatic styles, with tops and bottoms in the same colour but perhaps on contrasting fabrics (i.e. wool and shimmery material) seems to be a focus for UNIQLO's casual lines.

The UNIQLO LifeWear Fall/Winter 2017 Collection should give Canadians even more selection from what is already an extremely popular retailer known for quality, innovation and timeless style,
