Are you currently utilizing Twitter as a marketing tool for your business? If not, and you’re simply sticking with other social media like Facebook and Instagram, you are missing out. Statistics show that approximately 42% of customers learn about new services and products on Twitter.

As a result, it is important for your brand to have a base on the Twitter platform. Not only is it incredibly easy to create an account, but it is just as straightforward to make posts and interact with customers. However, what isn’t so simple is being able to market effectively with the platform.

Below you will find various ways as to how you can promote efficiently with Twitter.

Get visual

With it being claimed that 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, it is vital that you use pictures and videos to fully illustrate your messages on Twitter.

Even if you’re not the most creative graphically, there are plenty of online tools to assist you with getting visual. Whether you want to produce an infographic or make your own poster, this is easily done via specialist software packages – some of which you’ll find for free. Producing a professional video is more difficult, but also manageable if you use competent video production tools or hire a professional freelancer.

Post regularly

A consistent flow of Tweets is highly recommended for an effective content strategy on Twitter. Obviously, posting regularly will keep you in the public consciousness more than if your account was inactive. Plus it also opens you up to receiving more Retweets/Likes and followers as a result.

However, you also have to be somewhat cautious when making Tweets. There is a point where it’s possible you can go overboard, post too much and come across as spamming the timelines of your followers. To avoid any resentment while maximizing visibility, stick to posting content on Twitter about one or two times each day.

Respond back

Although this might not seem like the most appropriate way for marketing with Twitter, it is important to use the platform as a way to respond to customer enquiries and feedback. Before we get into the marketing aspect of this, doing this is also an ideal method for replying to consumers – after all, social media is a part of everyday life for many, and they will find sending comments via these platforms is easier than going the email route.

As for how it can be used as a promotional tool, showing that you respond to comments – whether they are positive or negative – in a professional and constructive manner will reflect well on your company.

Correct grammar

It might seem simple, but using correct grammar is not something you should overlook. It reflects on the overall professionalism of your outlet – and considering your Twitter profile should be public, it might be the first thing potential customers see; damaging your reputation.

With that said, the 140-character restriction on Tweets makes this somewhat tricky on occasion. So although it wouldn’t be recommended on a regular basis, abbreviations are acceptable if you are struggling to fit your message within the limit.
