Looks like Bethesda is trying its luck again by skipping Steam once more to launch Rage 2 on its own. Instead of the Steam Logo or a generic PC logo on the game’s pre-order page, the Bethesda Launcher logo is there. While the game developer hasn’t announced any exclusivity plans, it’s safe to assume it’s going to be an exclusive, much like Fallout 76.
Fans who play on the PC might not be happy with this development because of recent events—which include everything from a security breach that leaked user information from the company’s support site to issues with Fallout 76. It makes sense that Bethesda would want to skip Steam, so they’d avoid giving the company 30 percent of its revenue. But whether users are willing to risk using Bethesda Launcher again is another story. Only time will tell. The game launches on May 14, 2019 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
