We now have an official trailer for Solo:A Star Wars Story which gives us more insight on Han and Chewie's move into scoundrlehood. The movie, which will come to theatres on May 25th is the first in a series of character-focused prequels that take place before Star Wars: Episode IV, A New Hope.

In this trailer we see a lot more of Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo. The jury's still out on the acting, but the idea of Ehrenreich's as a younger Harrison Ford is starting to grow on me. We see more of Donald Glover as Lando Carlrissian and boy, does he nail the role. There's lots of Chewie action too and, most importantly, an astounding amount of a freshly minted Millennium Falcon in action.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, written and directed by Rian Johnson was a monumental let down for a lot of people, myself included. I have high hopes for Solo because it was written by Lawrence and John Kasdan who are familiar with the Star Wars canon (having penned The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens). Being a non-linear Star Wars movie also gives Solo more wiggle room to be the swashbuckling space caper we expect it to be.
