Enabling two-factor authentication is an essential feature you should be enabling. Now, you can protect your Facebook account without handing over your phone number. You can use authentication apps like Google Authenticator, TypingDNA, and Authy. You can enable this by heading to Settings > Security and Login and then head over to Two-factor authentication. You can check this link to see what you need to do. Or you can check under the cut:
- Select the Authentication app option to get a QR code.
- Open your authentication app and choose to add a new login there. You can scan the code on your phone or use the app’s browser extension to link these two together.
- Now, just type In the six digit code the app automatically generates and you’re good to go.
