If you rely heavily on Google Drive, you would assume everyone is on the service, too. Not quite. But the cloud storage service is set to hit a major milestone before the week ends. Google announced at its Google Cloud Next conference that the service will be crossing its billion-user threshold before the end of the week. It’ll be the eighth Google product to do so (after Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, the Play Store, Search, and YouTube). But it must be noted though that not all of these users are paying subscribers. Drive offers 15GB if free storage for Gmail and Drive. It’s also taken a bit of time to reach this number. At Google I/O 2017, Drive was said to have 800 million users and had then been storage for over two trillion files.
