The latest over-the-air update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T just arrived and it brings the latest security patch for both handsets. On top of that, OxygenOS 5.1.4 also brings with it a bunch of new features. One of the most prominent ones is called Sleep Standby Mode. This feature is designed to lessen the amount of battery drain when you aren’t using your phone. According to a OnePlus forum post, the device will track your phone use and determine when you are asleep or aren’t using the phone at specific times of the day. It’ll turn off network connections then to help save on the battery. It’ll power it on again a bit before you wake up to make sure you don’t miss any important notifications.

Aside from that, photo clarity has supposedly been improved but OnePlus didn’t specify how. There’s also new Group Messaging in the default messaging app and general bug fixes. Keep your eyes peeled for the update to head your way, OnePlus is rolling the OTA out bit by bit to different devices from different regions.
