Amazon launches new Echo devices and companions

Amazon Echo PlusAmazon is gearing up for the holidays with a bevy of new Echo products to address a variety of needs and wants. First off there are three new Echo speakers: the Echo Dot, Echo Plus, and Echo Show. There are also two new Echo “companions” to bridge the gap between your smart home and Echo devices: the Echo Sub and Amazon Smart Plug.

 

Echo Dot

Price: $69.99

The Echo Dot gets upgraded with louder and crisper sound and a new fabric finish and curved shape, while retaining its price tag. It now comes in Charcoal, Heather Grey, and Sandstone.

Echo Plus

Price: $199.99

The Echo Plus gets an upgraded speaker and design while keeping Zigbee smart home hub in. It now also has an embedded temperature sensor, letting you set temperature-based routines using other smart home devices. It also gets a larger 63.5mm Neodymium woofer and better back volume to boost bass and improve mids and highs. This also comes in Charcoal, Heather Grey, and Sandstone.

Echo Show

Price: $299.99

Now has a new 10-inch HD display, better and more powerful speakers, and a built-in smart home hub and all the glanceable features you’ve come to love about Alexa.

Echo Sub

Price: $169.99

If you want to get more boom out of your Echo speakers, the Echo Sub is the first wireless Echo subwoofer. It connects to compatible Echo devices to create a 1.1 or 2.1 pairing for stereo sound. With an equalizer you can even adjust bass, mid-range, and treble just by speaking to Alexa.

Amazon Smart Plug

Price: $34.99

Amazon is now making it easier to control things like your lights, coffee maker, fan, and more with the Smart Plug. This Wi-Fi smart plug uses a simple Wi-Fi setup to connect your devices. You just need an Alexa-enabled device, whether that be an Echo speaker, a Sonos One, or even just the Alexa app on your phone, to setup routines for your gadgets.
