Microsoft calls it the "most versatile 2:1 device you can buy." And one offers a spec sheet refresh, while another slims down the form factor for extra portability. The Surface Pro 7 gets a new lease on life with a "twice as fast" 10-generation Intel Core processor, USB-A and USB-C ports, and a promise of "all-day battery life." The last translates to 10-hour battery life. But the device promises fast-charging now. Pricing starts at US$749 (around CA$997).

As for the Surface Pro X, Microsoft is proud to call it the "thinnest, lightest, most powerful, and most connected Surface Pro ever." It has 33 percent thinner bezels with a 13-inch edge-to-edge touch screen in a 12-inch device's body. It runs on a new Microsoft SQ1 processor, which the company codesigned with Qualcomm. The claim is it pushes two teraflops of graphics processing power. This 2-in-1 comes with a new Signature Keyboard accessory that has a pen dock that doesn't just securely store the Surface Slim Pen but charges it as well. There is no expandable storage here, but it offers 500GB of storage. Pricing starts at $999 (around $1329).
