Rumours were going around that Samsung set a July release date for the delayed Galaxy Fold. The foldable device was originally supposed to launch on April 26th, but after reviewers encountered troubles with test units, Samsung opted to delay the launch of the device to fix the issues. Earlier this month, there were rumours that the company was going to launch the device in July. According to The Korea Herald though, this seems to be false. A Samsung official reportedly told them, “If we are running such a media event this month, we should be doing something by now. Nothing has progressed since the April delay.”

As The Verge points out, this could mean Samsung might just wait for the launch of the Galaxy Note 10 to introduce the Galaxy Fold (assuming that this won’t cannibalize each other’s sales). Back in May, Samsung co-CEO DJ Koh promised that the release of the Galaxy Fold “will not be too late.” But it seems we aren’t going to get a definite release date anytime soon. And Samsung isn’t the only one delaying its launch, Huawei has also pushed back the release of the Mate X from this month to September for more testing.
