Samsung officially unveiled the newest iteration of the Galaxy Note series. The Galaxy Note10 now comes in two models: the Note10 and the Note10+. The latter is its biggest yet, with a 6.8-inch QHD screen. It's also the first Note to get two variants. The regular size isn't such a small device either, with its 6.3-inch Full HD display. Like the Note devices that came before it, both have S Pen stylus, which can now convert handwriting to digital text and supports up to six gestures to let you control the phone using the stylus.
Both devices run on either Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9825 chipsets. Different regions get different chipsets. Both come with 256GB storage as standard and with 512GB version available. The Note10 has 8GB of RAM as a standard and 12GB in its 5G version (which won't be available here), while the Note10+ gets 12GB of RAM as its standard.
Samsung brings its Infinity-O display to these devices. Instead of putting the 10-megapixel selfie camera at the side, it's now placed right in the middle of the device. The two devices share a triple camera setup with a 12MP main sensor with optical image stabilization and dual aperture of f/1.5 and f/2.4. It also has a telephoto camera with a 12-megapixel sensor and OIS as well as a 16-megapixel, 123-degree ultrawide-angle lens. The Galaxy Note10+ gets a 3D ToF sensor, which is used by the 3D Scanner app to create 3D models of real-life objects.
The company improved the video capabilities of these phones, allowing you to record 4K video and offers features like Live Focus Video and a better Super Steady feature. The Note10 duo takes advantage of the S Pen when it comes to video editing. These phones get a more advanced video editor that uses the S Pen for quicker selecting and trimming. A free, Note-friendly version of Adobe Premiere Rush is available for those who need better editing features.
In terms of battery, the Note10+ gets the larger 4,300mAh battery with 45W Super Fast Charging. Samsung claims you'll just need 30 minutes of charge to make the phone last for the entire day. The catch is you'll need to buy the 45W charger separately. Samsung only includes the 25W charger in the box. Meanwhile, the Note10 gets a smaller 3,500mAh battery with 25W charging. Both still support fast wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging.
Both phones come with stereo speakers and a pair of USB-C headphones in the box. Samsung has ditched the 3.5mm audio jack here. AKG helped tune the audio for both the speakers and the headphones.
The Note10 will start at $1,259 outright, while the Note10+ starts at $1,459. According to Samsung Canada, the Note10 will be exclusive to Best Buy and Samsung stores, while the Note10+ will be available in "all stores."
The Note10 will be available in Aura Black and Aura White, while the Note10+ will be available in Aura Glow and Aura White. If you want the 512GB version of the phone, it'll only come in Aura Black. The Note10+ Aura White and 512GB Aura Black will only be available at Samsung Stores, while Aura Glow and Aura Black will be available everywhere else. Pre-orders for Canada are live now and will run until the phones' release on August 23rd. Those who pre-order will get a free pair of Galaxy Buds.
