No Man's Sky brought virtual reality support to the game through its "Beyond" update. But that wasn't without its issues. VR players were running into problems with the game's graphics, particularly on the PSVR. That's why the studio Hello Games wants to bring optimizations to the game—not just to the PSVR but to all VR platforms as well.
Hello Games released an update to its Experimental Branch on Steam this week that allows PC VR users to opt-in early to access features. The VR-related parts in the update include:
- Introduced a number of PC VR and PSVR rendering optimizations.
- Significantly improved image quality in PSVR: reduced blurriness caused by TAA jitter and fixed low-quality terrain/atmosphere jaggies.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Blaze Javelin not to work in VR.
The studio plans to roll out the optimizations to other platforms "as soon as possible."
