One of the most surprising things we're seeing out of this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is a new concept car from Sony. Yes, that Sony.

Sony surprises the crowd at its keynote with the introduction of an electric concept car called the Vision-S. It's intended to show the company's different strengths, including entertainment products, camera sensors, and the like.

The car itself has 33 different sensors inside and outside, comes with multiple widescreen displays, and offers 360-degree audio and always-on connectivity. There are also some technologies from companies like BlackBerry and Bosch and features intended to assure a smooth, safe ride.

The vehicle is also powered by a "newly-designed EV platform" from auto supplier Magna, which can power other vehicle types like SUVs. It has a maximum speed of 149mph, and it can go from 0 to 62mph in 4.8 seconds.

The Verge describes the vehicle as looking like a Porsche car, especially around its headlights, with its side profile resembling the Lucid Motors Air.

The inside has a dashboard-spanning screen similar to what Chinese electric vehicle company Byton is placing in cars. There are also screens for rear-seat passengers in the headrests. There are individual speakers in each seat for passengers who have different music preferences.

The concept explores the idea where cars are regularly updated as new software becomes available, similar to how our smartphones work. Some of the Vision-S’s features include automated valet parking, being able to summon the car to your location, identifying your facial expressions and body language to make sure you’re concentrating and alert, and accessing control features and music from your mobile device.

Sony didn't give too many details about the car, so we aren't sure if it's just a prototype or if it will enter production.
