Zoom has made a technical preview of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) available to both free and paid users, giving you better peace of mind over your video chat's security. Desktop, Android, and Zoom Rooms users can now activate E2EE. iOS users will get the feature after Apple approves the update.
You will have to switch on encryption in your settings manually. All the participants in your meetings will need to do the same. A green shield icon will show up on the top left of your call if E2EE is active. However, you must know that in the first stage of this first-phase rollout, E2EE will block some Zoom functions like live transcription.
Since it's released as a technical preview, Zoom hopes the users will give their feedback on the feature in the next 30 days.
