A new report from South Korea corroborates claims that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21/Galaxy S30 earlier than usual. According to Maeil Business, the next Samsung flagship will debut a full month earlier than usual and will be available by the end of January. (The S20 was launched on February 11 with a March release date.)

Samsung usually launches in February to steal the thunder of devices being introduced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. But the tech show has been pushed back to June 2021. But now it reportedly sets its sights on responding to Huawei's ongoing troubles. Releasing it's new flagship earlier will help fill the void Huawei leaves as it still faces issues with the US government.

Samsung is also the world's biggest smartphone maker, regaining the title from Huawei in Q3 2020. An early flagship release could help.maintain that momentum. And as Android Authority points out, it could help improve its flagship numbers, which dipped with the release of the S20 when compared to the S10.
