If you're overwhelmed by the number of options Netflix offers on its streaming service, the company has a solution—at least in France. The company introduced a new feature called Direct, which provides a linear-style channel on Netflix's web version. It's only available in France, where Netflix claims that traditional TV is still "hugely popular" for people who "just want a 'lean back' experience where they don't have to choose shows." Netflix also hopes the feature will expose its users to shows they might not watch.

When users choose to use Direct, Netflix will display the shows coming up with a 24-hour grid of programmed shows and times. After five days, the programming will automatically update based on what's popular on the platform overall instead of on personal tastes.
