Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker is adept at writing about dystopian worlds. So, it makes sense he wants to take on a year defined by a global pandemic. Brooker is working on a mockumentary about 2020 for Netflix, with Hugh Grant playing a "repellent" historian with a wig in the show. The actor shared the details accidentally during an interview with New York magazine for HBO's The Undoing.

Brooker did something similar in the past with his Annual Wipe series for the BBC that ran from 2006 to 2016. It was a darkly comic look at the news events and cultural moments of the year. Brooker released another one this year, too. It was called Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe, a 45-minute special for BBC Two with its focus was on the news coverage and public reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. We don't know yet when this mockumentary will come out. But we're going to want to watch it, just to find something humorous in this very trying time.
