It looks like Samsung is solving a branding dilemma again by skipping another model name. The company's latest smartwatch was the Galaxy Watch Active 2 introduced in September, which was the successor of the Galaxy Watch Active. And that, in turn, succeeded the original Galaxy Watch. So, the expectation is the next Samsung wearable would be the Galaxy Watch 2. The presumption is the "Active" line is separate from the main Galaxy Watch line. But new leaks suggest the company is just opting to call its next smartwatch the Galaxy Watch 3 to avoid confusing it with the Galaxy Watch Active 2. (Similar to how the company skipped model numbers to launch the Galaxy S20.)

MySmartPrice saw the name surfaced on Thailand's NTBC certification site. It's the country's regulatory body that certifies devices. And then it was spotted by XDA-Developers on Samsung's app. An image asset on the Galaxy Wearable app mentions the smartwatch specifically, despite the company not confirming its name yet.

According to a recent FCC listing, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will reportedly come in 41mm and 45mm sizes. It's said to feature a rotating bezel, too.

Aside from the Galaxy Watch 3, XDA-Developers also spotted the bean-shaped Samsung Buds leaked in April. They found an image asset with the single earbud that resembled the leaked design. The string attached to the image mentions the words "buds_live" in the file name, suggesting it might be called Galaxy Buds Live. Despite the company already filing trademark applications for Galaxy BudsX.

XDA suspects the two devices are set to launch soon, given that Samsung doesn't add assets to its apps unless these are about to debut. We've reported that Samsung is planning to hold an Unpacked event on August 5, and we might expect to see these then.
