Samsung is one of the few tech companies still invested in making Android tablets. But the manufacturer isn't setting its sights against other Android tablet makers. Instead, it focuses on providing something that can rival the Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface tablets.

There are two variants of the Galaxy Tab S7 available: the Tab S7+ and the Tab S7. The slates were launched alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series at the recent Samsung Unpacked event. The two tablets offer 120Hz refresh rate display, S Pen support, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processors, and Android interface optimized for productivity.

Both tablets run on Android 10, offer two memory configurations (6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage) with microSD expansion up to 1TB, and support 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.0. Both are available in the new Mystic Black, Mystic Silver, and Mystic Bronze colours.

The tablets come with a dual-rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel main combined with a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens. The back panel of these slates also has a recessed area that can hold the S Pen.

If you want to watch shows and movies on these tablets, both come with four AKG-tuned speakers (two on the left, two on the right) that support Dolby Atmos.

The Galaxy Tab S7+ gets deep Microsoft Office integration with an optional keyboard add-on and always available DeX mode for a more laptop-like experience. Meanwhile, DeX mode on the S7 can be enhanced with the optional Book Cover Keyboard with a touchpad. If you want to connect the tablets to an external display, the USB-C 3.2 Gen1 port supports DisplayPort.

Not everything is the same on both tablets. One of the essential differences the S7+ has over the S7 is it gets the updated S Pen with decreased latency. The more premium tablet also has a larger 12.4-inch AMOLED, while the S7 gets an 11-inch LCD.

Despite both having USB-C ports and 45W Super Fast Charging support, they also offer different battery capacities. The S7+ has a 10,090mAh battery, while the S7 has a smaller 8,000mAh battery. Samsung puts the fingerprint sensor underneath the display on the S7+, while the S7 gets its fingerprint sensor on a side key.

The Galaxy Tab S7+ and S7 will be available starting August 21. The S7+ has a starting price of $1,189, while the S7 starts at $919.
