Apple offers a cheaper alternative with the new Apple Watch SE for those on the fence about buying an Apple Watch because of its price. Similar to the iPhone SE, it won't get all the high-end features of the more premium models.

It won't get the ECG app, but it will have the same fitness tracking capabilities and fall detection feature available on the Series 4. It also has the Apple Watch Series 6's accelerometer, gyroscope, and always-on altimeter. It also shares the larger, easier-to-read, and "most advanced" watch display with the Series 6. It promises to be 30% bigger than the Series 3, which is also its benchmark for performance. Apple claims the S5 chip on the Apple Watch SE is two times faster than Series 3.

The Apple Watch SE also gets the new bands available on the Series 6. Its starting price is significantly lower at $369 for the GPS model and $429 for the GPS + Cellular version.

Aside from introducing its new smartwatches, Apple also launched the Fitness+ service.
