Amazon recently revealed the new "Fire TV experience," which will be available on the new Fire TV Stick Lite and Fire TV Stick. It introduces a new Main Menu and a "more personalized way to discover new entertainment." Amazon revamps the Home screen to make it easier for you to access your favourite content.
The Main Menu now houses features like Find, Live TV, Library, and your pinned apps. It lets you scroll over your apps to get a preview of your content and jump right into your favourite shows on supported streaming services.
Find gets a new look to make it easier to search through popular categories like movies, TV shows, sports, and free ad-supported content. It also lets you filter by genres to help you find what you're in the mood to watch. The new section also enables you to find other experiences like access to Food Network Kitchen, Peloton, and MasterClass.
Amazon also introduces Profiles, allowing you to create up to six profiles. It includes the ability to set up Kids Profiles with Amazon Kids, so your children's accounts only give them access to family-friendly content.
Alexa is at the core of this new Fire TV experience, with a promise of better voice controls. You can jump from feature to feature by saying things like "Alexa, go to Live TV," or "Alexa, go to News." You can also set up an Alexa Voice Profile, where the Fire TV can recognize your voice and automatically switch to your profile by saying, "Alexa, switch to my profile."
The new Explore section provides you access to features like weather forecasts, stocks, headlines, and more. Smart home devices are also accessible through the new Fire TV experience.
Aside from coming to the new Fire TV Sticks, it'll be available on more devices early next year.
