Similar to what it did in 2019, TCL shows off a couple of prototypes at IFA 2020. The first one is version 3.0 of its Project Archery smart glasses. It features two OLED panels designed to trick you into thinking you're watching a movie at the theatre on these glasses. The pair of glasses is said to be lighter and looks a bit more like sunglasses than version 2.0, which it showed off at CES this year.
TCL claims its working on tech to allow those who usually wear glasses not to need contact lenses or wear their glasses under the wearable.
TCL is also still developing its Waterfall Display, which is the aggressive curve of a screen that eliminates side bezels. We've seen Samsung do this for years but has since veered away from it as these displays are prone to registering false taps. But we're curious to see what TCL does with the technology.
The company also says its working on new foldable and rollable displays, but TCL thinks 2020 isn't the year to release these devices.
