LG is making it easier for users to access Google Stadia. At CES, the company announced that some of its 2021 televisions would support Google Stadia right on its TVs that run LG's WebOS 6.0 software. Stadia support will arrive in the second half of the year. And LG plans to bring it to its WebOS 5.0 TVs "later this year," too. For its 2020 televisions, those are also getting Stadia "at a later time."
While LG's press release claims it will support Stadia Pro's 4K HDR, 60fps, and 5.1 surround sound feature. CNET reports that an email from LG's Senior Director of US Home Entertainment Product Marketing Tim Alessi says he can't confirm support for 4K HDR Stadia streaming. Hopefully, that gets clarified soon.
There was also initial news that LG TVs would support NVIDIA's GeForce Now, but that apparently wasn't true... for now. Regardless, adding Stadia to LG's TVs will make for an attractive proposition for gamers who want an easier way to access their favourite titles.
